Thanksgiving Poem

What I am Grateful for

I am grateful for my heart
That holds my emotions and the is the center of us all

I am thankful for my hair
That gives me the beauty I carry on my head and lengthens the characteristics of myself

I am grateful for the blood that pulses through my veins
That carries my life and will pass on my talent

I am thankful for my eyes
That let me see the world and the people I love

I am grateful for my mouth, with a gift
That lets me speak my truths, lies, my thoughts and eat the food that creates life

I am thankful for my ears
That let me listen to the good others say and hear the wild heartbeat that nature has in store

I am grateful for my nose
That allows me to smell the fragrant Earth beneath my feet and give pleasant and sweet smelling dreams

I am thankful for my feet
That grant me the ability to run from foes and dance to friends

I am grateful for my hands
That let me reach for others but touch their hearts and harvest the food that fuels these greatnesses

I am thankful for my bones
That strengthen my body and hold me up to new heights

I am grateful for my lungs
That let me breath in the air that Mother Nature breathes out

I am thankful for my life
That promised these gifts and cradles my soul

I am grateful for friends and family
That nurture my life, provide me with essentials, shelter me, and give the luck and thanks that I have always had

What would you say??????

Today our substitute teacher read us a book…
At one point to characters had a disagreement.

The first character snarled, "I don't appreciate you!",  but, the other character calmly said "You don't have any heart…", then she ignored them.

Our assignment:
We had to say something to the victims side,
What would we do if  someone said they don't appreciate us.

I would cooly say, "But, I will appreciate you for your honesty.", or if they are physically hurting me then I would push them away, so neither of us get injured, last I'd purposely walk the same direction they are then take a detour and carry on with my business.

Wind Revisions

WONDERS OF THE WIND

I struggled to hold on, while the falling rocks tried to release my grip. The wind was tugging at me, and threatening to pull me into the depths below. My goal was to get to the peak - where Earth touches the sky, very few climbers attempted to do so.

As I climbed my throat was parched with thirst, arms ached, but kept going to achieve my goal. The icy gusts of wind buffeted my golden hair up to a lion's mane. But, with the sight of clouds the hope rose. The ever darkening skies seemed only an inch away; I must persist! Every muscle in my body burned with pain! "Left arm, right arm, left arm, right arm, left foot, right foot..." I chanted in a beat inside my head. I grappled myself so high I could see the top. "Almost there," I breathed.

A new spark spread in my heart. A final heave and I hauled myself to the top of the bar. With mighty effort I had achieved my goal. I looked through the tangle of climbing ropes and spotted Grandma standing on the wood chips she waved, I smiled back. I had just climbed to the highest point of the play structure!

A feeling lingered in my heart - I remembered when I was younger and not as strong I tried to climb up but couldn't. Though, today I knew that I would succeed, determined I was able to climb to new hights.

Up that high I cherished the wind, I could feel the Autumn sun warm my skin. I was free! I could see the dust particles that tried to release my grip, too. Glanced down then up again, at the top of my lungs, I screamed "HELLLLOOOOOOOO!", I hoped to make an echo, and it did. I scanned the horizon looking at the houses, cars, and trees which all seemed like tiny ants. I wonder if I will ever get to climb a real mountain someday or name a mountain summit "Sky Peak". Well, I should better enjoy climbing play structures while young.

I sat there and watched the clouds roll over the Earth. In the sky, in the wind, in my imagination

Ice Skating

MONOLOGUE
I am an ice skater I've been doing it for about 2 years, though I don't have a lot of experience, boy, am I good at it. I am at level "free skate 2", I learned that a "fail is the key to success" - meaning when I was still learning I fell down a lot, so, know I know 100 ways how not to do a spin.

POEM
Getting dizzy, getting dizzy
Inside I have a feeling, that really gets me fizzy

The more I fall the less I miss
I think I'm getting the hang of this

If I keep on trying, but without lying,
Then soon, I can tell, others will be crying (with envy)

The more I practice this skill
Then I can improve, I will

A couple tries later
I am a better skater

Trick-or-Treat, Give me something good to Eat

Trick-or-Treat
Treat-or-Trick

"Trick-or-treat!", kids called out; that was the regular thing you'd hear on the night of October 21, Halloween.
Mia (my friend), Maja (my sister), my dad and I strolled the sodden streets, for one reason: candy! Mia was a bumble-bee, my sister was Queen Cleopatra, and I was Arachne (the goddess of spiders). This was the "perfect" night to trick-or-treat, while rain pelted down on us we trudged through puddles of murky water, and while others moaned and groaned about the devil's weather.
Chilled to the bone we walked up to our second house, clearly over decorated. That house adorned with a  ghoul draping on the walk-way, dead gamblers (skeletons playing poker), miner 49'er, ghost of their "relatives", and... well you get the idea. "Huh...?", Mia questioned. As we walked up we noticed a sign on the front door that read GO TO THE GARAGE. It's...
