Monkeying Around
It was a typical day of science. We read, we answer the questions, we talk only a little bit. But, today my teacher called us into the center of the room, around a to-scale drawn model that was on the floor. We were learning about the solar system! Everybody was silent and stock still as my teacher demonstrated the Earth orbiting the Sun and forces of gravity. All was going well until I called out… "They are outside at the window! Look at them, they are coming towards us!" Then the craze came. Everybody went from silent to loud. All of us rushing to the window with out camera apps running and ready. "We are on lockdown," joked Mrs. Roberts (my teacher). Mrs. Roberts stumbled to the door and unlocked it with a CREAK! And in came a monkey, our principal, and a chicken, our assistant principal. What a laugh! Just about everybody was having indoor recess, taking selfies. Just to my luck Mrs. Roberts had us back up to give these crazy critters some space, and I had just enough time to take a shot of photos. Our assistant principal left while saying "Looking for a monkey or a chicken?", to my teacher. What a day!
